The First Multi-Racial Multi-Ethnic Young Adult Urban Fantasy

Happy New Years

With the release of Smoke & Demons (order it if you haven’t) I’m proud to say that my Tales of Urban Horror series is the first YA multi-ethnic urban Fantasy effort on the stands
There remains this sentiment that a good story is all that matters, I agree in part because the reader still wants to identify with the character and my series allow readers of diverse backgrounds to do that
Try the light up test

Give a copy of one of my novels to a reader of color that enjoys vampires, werewolves and other spirits that go bump in the night and watch them light up!
In that moment you will understand

Nadja Benaissa a Tales of Urban Horror

The Tales of Urban Horror series is more than just teens facing vampires, werewolves and other supernatural phenomenon, it’s also a cautionary tale to warn reader of big city dangers. I wrote a scene in Werewolves the Mix Tape in which protagonist, 16 year. Jamilah Jackson meets a man at a party He is charming, a great dancer exposes her to Ecstasy, and plans to sleep with her. She is unaware that he’s HIV positive, un-protective sex with him is equivalent to a death sentence. He knows it, yet, doesn’t care. He contracted it, now he’s going to do to others that which was done to him. The character is described as handsome and desirable, but in his heart he is as much a monster, as any zombie, or ghoul

I don’t know German singer Nadja Benaissa of the band No Angels, but her actions according to news reports fits the description of monstrous

Read her story here

At its heart Tales of Urban Horror  is a story of forgiveness and redemption, I wish the both for Ms. Benaissa

Dustin Brown

No, he didn’t advance beyond the first round click here for more, but he is still changing the face of Tennis
Such a shame Brown is out. His debut look was a real hope- raiser: über-minimalism with only a last-minute, temporary sponsorship, Air Berlin patch to detract. The mismatched neon shoelaces are a clue as to Brown’s suppressed inner-stylist. Here’s hoping he makes a show court next year. from Guardian UK

ANANDA NAHU

Her name is Ananda Nahu and her work is an explosion of color. Ananda Nahu is a Brazilian artist born in Juazeiro, a quiet city in the interior of Bahia. She grew up in Petrolina, an arid city in Pernanbuco state, separated from Juazeiro by the Sao Francisco river. This land is plagued by poverty; legacy of an unjust and racist system. She often portrays those who have been marginalized by society in her work.

Walk the streets of the city and you’ll see her work on the walls of decaying buildings, rusty train cars or underpasses. She brings beauty to forgotten places and joy to those who gaze upon her work.
