Racist accusing others of Racism

What is a racist? A person that accuses a black person of being a Nazi, plain and simple. Adolf Hitler was the biggest champion of racism in the twentieth century. He exterminated six million Jews because he believed they were an inferior race. He also believed that Asians and Negroes were “inferior” to the White race (source) The republic party are going out of thier way to interrupt townhall meeting and call Obama a Nazi with the hopes that opened minded whites will narrow their view of the world and see things their way. This action is not from a group of outsiders but from the  republican party.  Last year  Karl Rove made the statement “ Obama reminds him of “the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by.” Honestly how many blacks can afford or are even allowed in a country club? only a few, why? because people like Karl Rove don’t want them in their country club

But instead of having a debate about health care we see pundits paid by the health care agency stirring up crowds who have more of an issue with Obama’s race than health care policy’s they probably need

who is this crowd? the same racist that have always occupied this country

Then, protesting intergration

Then, protesting intergration

Now Protesting Healthcare

Now Protesting Healthcare

Whats interesting is that they refuse to see that the USA is changing, with or without them, also interesting they refuse to acknowledge that their actions are the most un american the country they are so quickly to defend
Racist calling historical victims of racism, racist how sad and how un American

I like the Show

I caught Out of Jimmy’s Brain on TV while in a Toronto, and liked it,  it was funny, multicultural and smart.  I make it  back to the states , looked the show up on the web, and learned that just as most shows good or bad, have a fan base,  Out of Jimmy’s Brain has a strong hate base.  I mean adults who actually HATE the series. Why do I say adults? because kids and teens don’t hate shows, why place energy into something you don’t like when there are so many other shows worth watching?

I found that the hate was grounded in two areas

1#  the Animation Purist

The new TV series  Out of Jimmy’s Brain drew 1.4 million viewers a few weeks back, some critical raves  from sources like Hollywood Reporter, but has also received a high level of criticism within the  animation community. The flap centers around Cartoon Network’s recent movement away from cartoons. Please read the message board post about the premiere episode:

2# Lastly, Jimmy’s (Dominic Jane) best friend is black, played by Jon Kent Ethridge no big deal, we see it all the time. But the affection of Jimmy’s eye s also black played by Tanashe Kachingwe Methinks an interactial relationship in a teen show maybe more than some of our more narrow minded viewers can take, hence the strong feelings

I for one can’t wait for it to come out on DVD, chech it out for yourself

Out of Jimmy’s Head is a series extension of the hit Cartoon Network Original movie “Re-Animated.”

The live-action/animated hybrid comedy focuses on Jimmy Roberts and how he copes with everyday life with a cartoon entourage.

In the sitcom, Jimmy attends school, aspires to be popular, deals with his dysfunctional family and chases a girl like any 12-year-old kid.

However, the chaos that comes from having cartoon characters involved in his life makes being normal

nearly impossible.

Recognizing Diversity

With all the talk about Susan Boyle losing Britain Got talent that no love has been given to the BGT winners Diversity

The 11-member troupe was led by lead dancer and choreographer British-NigerianAshely Banjo, his brotherJordan Banjo is also a member while Nigerian-Born Ike Ezekwugo is the final Nigerian link in the troupe.  While Ike was born in Nigeria and migrated to the UK, Ashley and Jordan are children of Nigerian, Funso Banjo, a former boxer and now a successful businessman and his British wife, Danielle – a former dancer with the Royal Ballet. The troupe performed an energetic and captivating routine that thrilled the crowd and wowed viewers. The British press is already enamored with the young dancers as they are being championed as positive role models for Black Youth in the UK. According to Ashley, ‘My education matters to me…As far back as I can remember, my parents drummed into me the importance of doing well at school. I’m not going to be spinning on my head when I’m 50, but as a qualified scientist I can always earn a living’. Ashley is currently studying Natural Science at Queen Mary University, Jordan is studying for his GCSEs and is already predicted top results while Ike will graduate with his Human Resource qualification soon. click here for more

The judges left Britain gobsmacked at their decision to select a goup of hip hop dancing brown skinned youth over a classically trained singer, but by doing so, they have made BGT truly an inclusive show, thats not afraid to look at its future.

The praise Cowell gave to Flawless (another exceptional dance group who many feel is better than diversity) were not empty

So the future is wide open for dance groups in Britain

but as for one of Diversity’s youngest dancers the future means back to school

Back to school: Perry Kiely, 13, returned to Gable Hall School in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex on Wednesday

Michael Jackson in Brazil Somebody Cared About Us

Shot in the Favelas of Brazil, this little seen video showcases the talent and the beauty of a segment in Brazil that’s rarely seen in a positive light. The media in Brazil take great care in only highlighting an image of blonde blue eye-ness and the dark skinned poor living outside the city is something that the government wish would just go away

I believe the video was shot by Spike Lee and it is a thing of great beauty, clearly handled with great care.

Losing its Vibe

Vibe Magazine used to be a staple in the hip hop community, but ever since Editor-in-Chief Danyel Smith took over, the ship has been slowly sinking. I think we could say that she is single handedly responsible for Vibe Magazine falling apart.Recently, a story was published in Vibe which listed the Top 50 Hip Hop Blogs out today. If you look at their list, it’s clear to see that Vibe has NO CLUE what the kids are looking at. Ever since Danyel took over it seems like Vibe is detached with what’s going on in the entertainment world. A magazine that started out as something that hip-hop fans could be proud of has quickly turned into a magazine hip hop fans are ashamed of. click here for full article

Black rock artists have gotten past the fear that prevents many of us from fully following our interests, even when those interests aren’t seen as “traditionally” black. “I grew up listening to Joy Division, New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen, the Cure….” says TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone. “I simply identified with something in the [white rock] music.” He took that music as inspiration and, along with his bandmates, created Dear Science, the sharp, angry and euphoric genre-mashing album that Rolling Stone and SPIN unanimously named their 2008 album of the year. It was also one of the blackest albums I’ve heard. click here for full article

Under Pressure

I can’t say enough how important it is to support films like Pressure Cooker. See drag me to Hell next week, support a movie with a conscious this weekend

Unorthodox Culinary Arts teacher Mrs. Stephenson is a tyrant known throughout her Philly public high school for her hoarse rebukes of her students’ creations. She may be disarmingly blunt, but she cares about the final product. Last year, 11 of her seniors totaled $750,000 in scholarships to top culinary schools across the nation. Here, we follow three of Stephenson’s dedicated inner-city kids with circumstances stacked against them whose best hope for the future depends on the perfect results.
